Halan is a Mobile application and website that provides financial services which is currently available for PayTabs merchants as one of the BNPL (buy now, pay later) payment methods provided in Egypt, which allows installments for the customers over various periods starting from 6,18,24,30 up to 36 months.

Live Merchants in Egypt can enable Halan as an APM.


Activation Requirements


-As a merchant, you need to have active accounts on PayTabs & Halan.


-To activate Halan: send a request to customercare-eg@paytabs.com along with your merchant ID.

Supported Transaction Type, Currency & Amount

  • Transaction type: Sales only (check what transaction type is)
  • Currencies supported: EGP.
  • The minimum transaction amount to use Halan is 500 EGP, and maximum transaction amount depends on the merchant's account

Halan Down Payment


Halan down payment is an option that you can enable or disable depending on your business needs from the "Profile" tab.

 


By clicking on the edit button, you will be redirected to the screen shown below which has several options as listed here:

  1. (Enabled): Enable or Disable the down payment option
  2. (Force Zero): also means that the down payment will always be zero.
  3. (Editable): Give the authority to edit the down payment amount to the customer
  4. (Maximum % of total): You can set the percentage of the down payment of the transaction amount
  5. (Maximum amount): You can set the Maximum amount of the down payment
  6. (Zero if max down payment is below): The down payment will be Zero if the customer puts any amount below the amount, you have set before.




Halan Payment Workflow (User Experience)


The Halan payment method is hosted by PayTabs, which means that it will be managed and processed on our side. You can have the same page embedded in your checkout page by following our How to not redirect my customers to an external payment page? (iFrame/Embedded Mode) solution article.


Once the customer is redirected to the payment page he/she will pick Halan as below.

 


Consumer Journey 


Step 1: Select Halan as the payment method and then Enter National ID.

 

Step 2: Set Down payment amount (if enabled by merchant) which must be less than the cart amount.


The merchant has the choice to enable the down payment or not from his merchant dashboard.





Step 3: Select instalment tenor, options: 6, 18, 24, 30 and 36 months.

At this step, the customer can choose the installment period that suits his needs.




Step 3: Enter OTP, which will be sent by Halan on their registered phone number to confirm the transaction.

 


And finally, when the customer clicks on submit, will receive the below success message.

 

 

Transactions that are paid through Halan will be tagged in the payment method in the transaction detailed window as shown below.

 




The Settlement Flow

 

Please note that settlement for any Halan related transaction, is handled by Halan directly within 30 working days of the transaction date. 


The Refund Process Flow

 

Please note that refunds for any transaction done using Halan, are not available via PayTabs Merchant Dashboard, however you can send Halan directly for any refund request via: merchants@halan.com, which may take up to 30 business days for the refund to be processed.
